Is the casualty responsive / conscious?
A ALERT - Are they alert – Check visually
V VOICE - Speak to them, ask them questions
P PAIN - Pinch their earlobe – do they respond?
U UNCONSCIOUS??
A AIRWAY
Establish an airway by tilting the head back
B BREATHING
Check for Breathing by:
Listening
Watching for chest moving up and down
C CIRCULATION
Check for PULSE
Either at the wrist or side of the neck
