Check that there is no imminent danger to yourself of the casualty.
YOU, the First Aider are the number one priority
Is the casualty responsive / conscious?
A ALERT - Are they alert – Check visually
V VOICE - Speak to them, ask them questions
P PAIN - Pinch their earlobe – do they respond?
Establish an airway by tilting the head back
Check for Breathing by:
Watching for chest moving up and down
Check for PULSE
Either at the wrist or side of the neck
